Where and When?

EdCamp Citrus 2016, the 7th annual event, will take place on November 12th, 2016 at Citrus High School in Inverness, FL. Doors will open at 8:00 am with registration, breakfast refreshments, networking, and session-building with your colleagues. This is when you can sign up to lead a session, prepare for the day’s events, and meet some new friends. At 8:45, the organizers will kickoff the unconference and EdCamp Citrus will get underway!

Sessions will be 45 minutes in length, and there will be 10 minutes in between each session to allow participants to navigate the building, tweet, and reflect on their learning.
Attendees are encouraged to sit with someone new, meet and greet people you've never met and use this time to network, collaborate and share.

For those of you who have never gone to an Edcamp before, please make a note of the unusual part of the morning where we will build the schedule. Edcamp doesn't believe in paying fancy people to come and talk at you about teaching! At an Edcamp, the people attending – the participants - facilitate sessions on teaching and learning! So Edcamp won’t succeed without a whole bunch of you wanting to run a session of some kind! What kinds of sessions might you run?
  • Discussions on issues in education
  • Share a model lesson or unit
  • Conduct an inquiry session into a new tool
  • Share something you’re passionate about
  • Discuss new things you’d like to learn more about
  • Share activities you’re looking to improve
  • Anything else you can think of that will get other interested teachers to come and share with you!
Edcamp Citrus will be a great day of learning! Even if you don’t feel like facilitating a session, please come ready to share ideas.
